Terms and Conditions
WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM THE COMPANY AND YOU
Your Tuition Vehicle will be Modern, Dual controlled and Insured for you to drive both on lessons and for the purposes of your Practical Driving Test. The Company offers a Test Booking Service and can arrange to book both the Theory and Practical Tests if required.
The Company is required by Law to check an Individuals Eyesight and Entitlement to drive before any lessons can commence. Individuals are therefore required to prove their entitlement to drive by presenting Both parts of their driving licence (i.e. the Paper Part and the Photo ID Card) at the First lesson. If an individual is in possession of an old style Paper Provisional Driving Licence where the licence does not have a Photo ID Card this can be checked along with a valid UK Passport.
Your lessons will be booked at a convenient time for both you and your instructor’s diary. Lessons are commenced either from home, permanent place of work or educational facility.
Whilst every care will be taken to ensure Pupils receive training at the requested time, all bookings are made on the understanding that the Company can not be held responsible for the postponement of training due to traffic conditions, adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown of equipment or any other cause outside of our control. As much notice as possible will be given upon any cancellation on behalf of the Company and where possible the lesson will be rebooked to the earliest mutual convenience. Occasionally lessons may run late due to traffic conditions which are outside the instructor’s control. If this happens you will be contacted and given an estimated time of arrival as soon as this is possible. In the event of your lesson running late you will still be entitled to the full tuition time booked. Lesson time commences upon your instructors arrival. After arriving at your nominated pick up point for your lesson if you are not available, your Instructor will wait approximately 15 minutes. If after 15 minutes, you have not arrived, the lesson will be abandoned and you will be required to pay for the lesson(s) in question.
If, upon arrival for an appointment, the Instructor deems that the Pupil is unfit to undertake that lesson through misuse of drugs or alcohol, then the Instructor has the right to cancel that lesson and the Pupil will be liable for payment of the fee. It is against the law to drive or attempt to drive a motor vehicle whilst under the effects of drugs or alcohol.
You are expected to act properly observing the rules and regulations of the road whilst out on a driving lesson.
A 48 hour notice policy for cancellation of a driving lesson is in operation. Pupils must give 48 hours notice if they need to cancel a lesson. Otherwise FULL PAYMENT will be required for the cancellation. Cancellations will be monitored and where cancellations become frequent you will then need to pre pay for any future lessons. Where there have been two or more consecutive cancellations any repeat appointments will automatically be cancelled and offered elsewhere. A new appointment slot will then have to be arranged.
BLOCK BOOKINGS: If you pay for a block booking or an intensive course all of the above will apply. If there is a need to charge you for late cancellations it will be deducted from the amount of lessons already paid for. If you decide that you no longer wish to learn with the Company you will be charged the full price for any lessons already taken plus an administration fee of £5.00 and you will then be refunded the rest of any monies owed to you by cheque. E.g. you have purchased a block of ten lessons at £190.00. You have two lessons and no longer wish to learn. You will be charged the normal current rate of £20.00 per hour for those two lessons plus a £5.00 administration charge. You will then be sent a cheque for the sum of £145.00.
PAYMENT: Is made at the beginning of a lesson. You can pay for your lessons either as you have them or in advance. Payment is accepted by cash or cheque, all payments made by cheque must be presented along with a valid cheque guarantee card otherwise the cheque cannot be accepted. Lessons are unable to be given on credit.
If there is a need to increase the price of driving lessons you will be given at least one month’s notice prior to any increase.
Any test Fee’s are paid upon booking to the Driving Standards Agency, on the day of the practical driving test payment must be made to your instructor for the use of the vehicle on that day at the start of the session.
The school reserves the right to withhold the use of the training vehicle, if in the Instructors opinion, the pupil does not reach the required standard. The school cannot be held responsible for Test Appointments being postponed or cancelled by the Driving Standards Agency. Furthermore we are not responsible for any failure of light bulbs etc during the Practical test. All bulbs/lights etc will be checked as part of the vehicle maintenance programme on the lesson prior to the test, with the candidate.
You will be presented with two signed copies of the Terms and Conditions by your instructor during your first lesson please read through them carefully and if you are in agreement with them please sign and return one copy to your instructor at your next lesson.
